Many may be asking if Dr. Nisco is continuing with ADHD testing for those patients who need testing for ADHD and other psychological problems. The answer is yes. If you have an appointment scheduled or are needing to be evaluated and are healthy to attend, we are planning to continue to adhere to our schedule and see patients. Out of an abundance of caution, we will be strictly adhering to the CDC guidelines.

In light of the current COVID-19 crisis, and to make sure that all patients are safe and secure, Nisco Psychological is following the strict guidelines set forth by the CDC along the parameters made by the Governor’s Stay at Home order. In addition, personal contact will be kept to a minimum and social distancing will be practiced during all in-person meetings as he practices out of a private office setting and can schedule the initial session and follow-up meetings by phone.

  • The office building itself is now to date over 90% vacant with most businesses working virtually.

  • The Nisco Psychological office is located in a suite used by three other practitioners all of whom work part-time.

  • The office suite is routinely cleaned and disinfected by a professional cleaning company following all current CDC recommendations in light of the COVID-19 crisis.

  • All hard surfaces are disinfected between appointments.

  • Social distancing guidelines recommended by the CDC are followed during all visits.

  • Strict CDC handwashing guidelines are followed and hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes are available in the office.

  • If you are not feeling well, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please call to reschedule after you have recovered or have followed any quarantine protocol.

When testing for ADHD Testing, it is important to note that the question is not, “Are you having trouble focusing?” The question is, “Why are you having trouble focusing?”

The testing performed by Dr. Nisco is a comprehensive evaluation that takes into account an individual’s intellectual and cognitive abilities along with their emotional and behavioral functioning and in some cases their traits of personality and even social skill development. It is certainly possible to have difficulties concentrating and but not meet the criteria for ADHD.

This formal evaluation for ADHD allows doctors to more accurately treat your condition. Here’s a good analogy, a psychological evaluation is like having an x-ray for your thoughts and mind; we wouldn’t want to put a cast on a wrist that has been simply sprained versus broken. The purpose of testing is to allow for proper recommendations in the treatment of someone’s mental health care.

Nisco Psychological Services offers an extensive ADHD testing assessment that can help define and target the best type of treatment for improving your behavioral health. Dr. Nisco’s office in Sterling offers a safe environment to begin managing your mental health issues and can create a positive road map that can lead to more clarity in finding the source of the issues you or your family member has been struggling with.
